Liaison officers in neighbouring countries

There are Finnish police officers currently working in Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Murmansk and Petrozavodsk, mainly in the Finnish diplomatic missions. Their prime duty is to monitor the crime situation in the country in which they are stationed and to keep in contact with the authorities of their host country. Another important duty is to keep in touch with Finnish entrepreneurs in these areas on issues of security.

Police officers working in the Finnish diplomatic missions in Estonia, St. Petersburg and Moscow can be contacted in any matter concerning security in these areas.

The Finnish Police also have liaison officers in Lyon and The Hague.

The National Bureau of Investigation is responsible for supervising the work of the liaison officers.
