International meetings and state visits held in Helsinki tie up a significant amount of the Police Department’s personnel and other resources. The Baltic Sea Action Summit to be held on 10 February 2010 at Finlandia Hall will bring high-level representatives of ten Baltic Sea states to Helsinki. There will be disruptions to traffic between Helsinki Airport and Finlandia Hall, particularly on the day of the Summit, Wednesday 10 February between 8am-10am.
Lainvalvojat, a documentary series set in the Helsinki Police Department, was shown on SubTV at last autumn. The series portrays the work of such units as crime investigation, patrol police and the canine police. There will also be unique footage showing the Karhu Team in helicopter and sharpshooting training. The opening episode attracted more than 400,000 viewers.
