Helsinki Police Department
The Helsinki Police Department has more than 180,000 emergency assignments each year. This is about 17 per cent of all emergency assignments in Finland. Coordination of the emergency assignments is the responsibility of the Operational Command Centre, which functions as the operative command and communications centre for the Helsinki Police Department.
Lainvalvojat, a documentary series set in the Helsinki Police Department, was shown on SubTV at last autumn. The series portrays the work of such units as crime investigation, patrol police and the canine police. There will also be unique footage showing the Karhu Team in helicopter and sharpshooting training. The opening episode attracted more than 400,000 viewers.
