Narcotic-related crimes comprehend: 1) the production or attempted production of narcotics and the cultivation or attempted cultivation of Khat (Catha edulis) or Psilocybin mushrooms. 2) the cultivation or attempted cultivation of opium poppies, hemp or cactus plants containing mescalin for use as a narcotic or a raw material or for use in the production of narcotics, 3) the import or export or attempted import or export of narcotics, including their transport and consignment, or any attempt to do so 4) the sale, dealing, transfer to another party or other form of distribution of narcotics or any attempt to do so 5) the possession or attempted acquisition of narcotics
Criminal fraud involves a situation in which a person: seeks illegal financial gain for him/herself or another party or seeks to injure another party; by effecting an error or taking advantage of an error causes another party to do or fail to do something, thus resulting in financial damages to the erring party or a party whose interests could be manipulated by this.
Fraud also involves a situation in which the entry, alteration, destruction or deletion of data or otherwise manipulating the operation of an information system causes a distortion in the end result of data processing, thus causing financial damages to another party.
Racist/hate crimes involve any crime committed against another based on the victim's nationality, race, ethnic background, religion or minority status. Racist/hate crimes include discrimination, criminal threat, assault and battery or incitement against any ethnic group.
Criminal threat involves any situation in which one party trains a firearm on another party or in some other manner threatens another party with the commission of a crime in such circumstances that the party being threatened has just cause to fear that their own safety or personal property, or that of another, is in grave danger.
Security threats that must be brought to the attention of the Police other than those specified above.
Bribery offences by public officials and bribery in business, which are mentioned in the Penal Code, comprise the core area of corruption. One can be guilty of giving a bribe by merely promising or offering an unlawful benefit (bribe). Typical bribery offences also include abuse of public office and misuse of a position of trust in order to obtain unlawful benefit for oneself or for one's close friends/relatives. The provisions on bribery offences by public officials are laid down in Chapter 40 of the Penal Code (sections 1, 2 and 3) and those on giving bribes to public officials are laid down in Chapter 16 of the Penal Code (sections 13 and 14). The provisions on bribery in business are laid down separately in Chapter 30 of the Penal Code (sections 7 and 8).
